Hair fall is also one of the problems in which there has been a huge increase after Kovid. But do you know that choosing the right hair oil can get rid of this problem. Hair fall is the biggest beauty problem of this time. Lack of nutrition is the reason for hair fall, but after covid-19 it has increased even more. Every day people are reaching the hospital with the problem of hair fall. When we looked at the various causes of hair fall, we saw that there is a very deep connection between your hair and the right hair oil. And changing hair oil according to the trend can also be the reason for hair fall.
Your hair and oil connection
We spoke to Dr. Rinki Kapoor, Cosmetic Dermatologist and Dermato-surgeon at Aesthetic Clinic and Fortis Hospital, Mumbai, to find out how hair oil affects hair strength.
Dr. Rinke Kapoor says, “The relationship between oiling and hair goes back centuries. Our hair needs oil to maintain its colour, strength and shine. Not only this, it also protects the hair from the harmful rays of the sun.
Why is Hair Oiling Important?
On the hair fall and hair oiling connection, Dr. Kapoor explains, “When you apply oil to your hair, it helps in improving the circulation to the scalp. And it stimulates the hair follicle. Although there is no direct link between oiling and hair growth. Despite this, hair oiling is a good routine for hair protection.
Here are the benefits of proper hair oiling
Applying oil in the right way can protect your hair and prevent it from drying out.
It prevents hair from getting damaged.
The oil helps in healing the strands by sealing the hair cuticles.
The fatty acids present in any good hair oil are beneficial for hair health.
Here is the right way to apply hair oil
It is important to apply oil in the right way for it to really benefit your hair. According to Dr. Kapoor, “Make sure you do not rub the oil too vigorously and do not leave it on your hair for more than an hour. If you leave the oil in the hair for a long time, it can clog the pores and cut off the oxygen reaching the hair.”
“Keeping oil in the hair for too long can also damage the hair. This can lead to pimples, pimples etc. in the scalp, due to which the hair starts breaking and falling.”
Oil should not be applied in this situation
Also, oiling is not suitable for people who suffer from dandruff or have naturally oily scalps. Keeping the oil for a long time attracts dust and particles to the scalp. Different hair oils have different benefits and you can choose any oil according to your hair nature and requirement. But changing it frequently can be harmful for your hair.
Changing oil frequently can also be the reason for hair fall.
Hair fall means that your hair is getting weak and dying. That is, the nutrition you are giving them is not proper according to them. So it is important to know which oil is most suitable for your hair.
On choosing the right hair oil, Dr. Rinke suggests that the oil acts as a conditioner for the hair. It protects the hair cuticle. Which we usually use as a preconditioner. Also, when we massage the oil in the scalp, it increases the blood flow and makes the hair healthy.
Coconut oil is considered the best for hair. It can penetrate up to ten to fifteen layers of the hair shaft. Amla and olive oil are also considered good for hair. But coconut oil is known for the same deep penetration. Despite this, it is not necessary that coconut oil works for everyone’s hair. It may also harm some people.
Thick and Thin Oil
Coconut and Amla oil are very thick. People whose hair texture is very thin or the hair is very weak, then this thick oil does not suit them. So they should use thinner oils like olive oil.
When you change the oil frequently, it can sometimes lead to hair fall. Because everyone’s hair texture is different and not all oils suit everyone. Therefore, before choosing onion and tea tree oil for hair, make sure that it is right according to your hair or not.
Applying thick oil on thin and weak hair can aggravate the problem. Whereas thick oils like amla and coconut are beneficial for most people.
